SUB: Engagement of Guest Teachers in Schools of Directorate of Education during session 2015-16.
The Directorate of Education, GNCTD has been engaging Guest Teachers on daily basis as a short term measure against the availability of suitable vacancies. The engagement of Guest Teachers are to be discontinued when the schools are closed for summer vacations as their services are no longer required once vacations get declared.
Further, pending the policy decision on Guest Teachers and its implementation, the Directorate of Education would re-engage the same set of Guest Teachers for the session once schools will re-open after the summer vacation. In view of the Orders of Govt. of NCT of Delhi No. F.19(01)/2014/S-1V/223-224 dated 16.02.2015, the Guest Teachers, generally be engaged in the same school, subject to the availability of vacancies and in case of non-availability, the Guest Teacher would first tired to be posted in the school within the same district, in any case within Delhi. Further, Guest Teachers who were found to be ineffective in their work and those whose were found to be indulging in dereliction of duty, will not be considered for re-engagement.
In view of above, all the HoSs (including taken over schools) are hereby directed that engagement of all the Guest Teachers is to be discontinued w.e.f. 09 May, 2015 i.e. from the day of schools will be closed for Summer Vacation. All pay related dues of Guest Teachers must be cleared positively by 30.05.2015.
This issues with the prior approval of the competent authority.
