under the Directorate of Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi

1.	Name of Post	:	Special Education Teacher for :            A.    Physically Handicapped            B.    Speech Impaired            C.     Mentally Retarted, and            D.    Partially Sighted.
2.	Number of Posts	:	933 (2010)* subject to the variation depending on workload
3.	Classification	:	GCS Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted, Non Ministeria
4.	Pay Band & Grade pay/Pay Scale	:	PB-2 (Rs. 9300 – 34800) (Grade Pay Rs. 4600/-)
5.	Whether Selection Post or Non- Selection Post	:	N.A.
6.	Age limit for direct recruits	:	Not Exceeding 30 years. Note-1 Relaxable for Government Servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instruction or order issued by Central Govt. Note 2 : The Crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghlaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Laddakh division of J & K State, Lahul & Spiti Districts and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh & Andaman & Nicobar Island Or Lakshadweep).
7.	Educational & other qualification required for direct recruits	:	Essential 1   Graduate with B.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed with a two years diploma in special Education or Post-Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education.  OR Any other equivalent qualification approved by rehabilitation council of India. Note : Teacher with qualification in single disability area will be encouraged to specialize in other disability areas by undergoing modular courses to take care of wide range of diversities in a General School. Note : Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
8.	Whether age & educational qualifications prescribed for direct recruits will apply in case of Promotees	:	N.A
9.	Period of Probation, if any	:	02 Years.
